Event: September 2023 Special Seminar

Instructors Alice Orzechowski, CPA, CMA, EA, Kevin Bukowski, EA and Marilyn Meredith, EA, AFSP will present the following education:

  • Schedule D:
    We will be talking about how to report the sale of a limited partnership interest, how to report the sale of a house flip. We will be discussing when we should be filing a Schedule D, when it’s appropriate to file form 8949 and when it’s appropriate to file form 4797. Presented by Alice Orzechowski, CPA, CMA, EA.
  • Crypto Currency:
    We will be discussing the different types of crypto currency such as: bitcoin, ether (etherium), tether , binance coin, non-fungable tokens (NFT), gaming tokens, etc. and how to calculate tax on the different types of crypto currency. We will be going over how to gather information from coinbase and others not on the 1099-B style reports. Presented by Kevin Bukowski, EA.
  • New Credits:
    We will be discussing new credits, such as those included in the Inflation Reduction Act. We will learn about the energy efficient home improvement credit, the residential clean energy credit, and clean vehicle credit. We will also talk about a few of the business energy credits. We will be discussing changes to the savers credit, pension plan startup cost credit and the military spouse retirement plan eligibility credit. Presented by Alice Orzechowski, CPA, CMA, EA.
  • Putting it all Together:
    Reviewing all topics that have been presented during the day: Schedule D; tax energy credits in the Inflation Reduction Act: energy efficient home improvement credit, residential clean energy credit, clean vehicle credit, business energy credits, upcoming changes to the savers credit (will become a savers match), pension plan startup cost credit, military spouse retirement plan eligibility credit; and crypto currency. Presented by Marilyn Meredith, EA, AFSP.
